Living Space Housing has been announced as a finalist in the 2021 Insider West Midlands Property Awards.

The Solihull-headquartered company has made the five-strong shortlist for Residential Developer of the Year, alongside Keepmoat Homes, SevenCapital, St Joseph Homes and Spitfire Homes. The prestigious regional Awards scheme has a total of 12 categories and the winners will be announced on 4th November 2021.

Living Space Housing launched to the market in 2019 as a specialist in affordable housing. The company has now grown at such a pace, it has been able to respond to the industry-wide issues of low output caused by the Covid-19 pandemic by ramping up production. Living Space has a total of 674 residential plots under control, representing a combined value in excess of £113million. The company is on track to deliver 12 developments over the next two years.

Steve Davies, Managing Director of Living Space Housing said: “The whole team is absolutely delighted that we are a finalist in the Insider West Midlands Property Awards. Everyone has worked exceptionally hard to navigate our way through the continual challenges of the past 18 months, and we are especially proud that our proactive response has enabled us to ramp up production, which is helping to tackle chronic shortfalls in quality affordable housing.

“Living Space Housing has recently invested over £20m in the start of construction at five new schemes, where all of the affordable homes will be delivered during 2022.”

The vast majority of the homes Living Space builds are delivered to Registered Providers (RPs) for affordable rent and shared ownership. Approximately five per cent of the plots currently being delivered are being sold on the open market, with prices starting from £220,000. Living Space sources the land, achieves Full Detailed Planning consent and builds the homes for the RP, enabling them to focus on the funding and management of high-quality homes for their residents.

Ian Griffin, Midlands Business Insider’s Deputy Editor said: "It's fantastic and inspiring to see so many quality submissions after the challenges of the past 18 months. It highlights, more than ever, the vibrancy of this region’s property sector. After last year's cancellation, I'm very much looking forward to once again celebrating the top-notch successes of this region."

Living Space’s core area of operation is the West Midlands conurbation, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and Bedfordshire. The East Midlands has also been identified as a growth area for its high-quality affordable housing product.
