Solihull-based Living Space has received a RoSPA Gold Award for the second consecutive year it has entered the internationally recognised scheme for high health and safety standards.
Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in the UK’s longest running awards of its kind.
Paul Breen, Managing Director of Living Space said “We are all thrilled and immensely proud to have received a second consecutive Gold Award from RoSPA. Health and Safety is critical to our business and the wellbeing of all our team and supply chain. To bolster the team as we grow, Phil Morgan, who has been with this business since the beginning, is now a Health and Safety Manager, supporting Andy Green as Head of Health and Safety.
“As well as keeping our live construction sites safe, both Andy and Phil have been instrumental in navigating each new piece of coronavirus guidance, ensuring our workforce always adheres to best practice. To be recognised yet again with a RoSPA Gold Award for excellent safety management systems is testament to their work, and the commitment by Living Space’s staff, contractors and customers to ensure everyone gets home safely to their families at the end of every working day.”
Living Space launched to the market in 2019 as an affordable housing specialist and is currently constructing seven residential developments across middle England. 13 additional sites are either in the planning system or being promoted. The combined construction value of its development portfolio is in excess of £131million, which equates to 890 affordable houses, apartments and bungalows.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: “This is a fantastic and well-deserved accomplishment. All our award entrants demonstrate their unwavering commitment and passion for keeping people safe at work. By receiving this recognition Living Space joins like-minded businesses and organisations worldwide, who represent the very best in their approach to Health and Safety. I would like to add my personal thanks for all the work that it has taken to secure this well-deserved award – congratulations to all those involved, who champion and drive-up Health and Safety standards every day. You are a fantastic example to others in your sector.”
The vast majority of the homes Living Space builds are delivered to RPs for affordable rent and shared ownership. Living Space sources the land, achieves Full Detailed Planning consent and builds the homes for the RP, enabling them to focus on the funding and management of high-quality homes for their residents.
Living Space’s clients include Stonewater, The Wrekin Housing Group, Hightown Housing Association, Paradigm, and Platform Housing Group.
