Living Space Secures Planning Approval for New Affordable Housing Scheme in Evesham

December 17, 2025

Living Space is pleased to announce that Wychavon planning committee voted to grant planning permission for its new residential development in Evesham, marking a significant step forward in delivering high-quality, affordable homes for the local community.

The approved scheme will deliver 62 new high-quality residential dwellings, with 100% of the homes provided as mixed-tenure affordable housing. The development has been carefully designed at a density of approximately 26.6 dwellings per hectare, creating a well-balanced layout that integrates seamlessly with its surroundings while making efficient use of land.

A key feature of the scheme is its strong focus on quality, sustainability and inclusivity. All homes will be built to Nationally Described Space Standards (NDSS) and will be providing a range of occupancy sizes to meet the diverse housing need. The development also includes eight on-site bungalows, supporting accessible living and helping to meet the needs of older residents and those requiring step-free accommodation. Each home will be equipped with Air Source Heat Pumps, providing a low-carbon heating solution that improves energy efficiency, reduces reliance on fossil fuels and helps residents benefit from lower energy bills over the long term.

More than half of the site, amounting to approximately 53%, will be dedicated to public open space. Existing hedgerows and green infrastructure will be retained and enhanced around the site boundary and, where possible, throughout the development, creating a strong landscape framework, enhancing biodiversity and supporting residents’ health and wellbeing.

Sustainability is embedded throughout the scheme, with a comprehensive Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SuDS) proposed. This will include a balancing pond and swales to manage surface water effectively and contribute positively to the site’s landscape and ecological value.

Commenting on the approval, Luke Webb, Planning Director at Living Space, said:
“Securing planning permission for this scheme is a significant milestone and reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality, affordable homes that respond positively to local needs. The Evesham development has been carefully designed to provide well-spaced homes, generous public open space and strong environmental credentials, including low-carbon heating and sustainable drainage. We are proud to be bringing forward a scheme that will create a lasting, sustainable community for residents both now and in the future.”

The development reflects Living Space Housing’s ongoing commitment to delivering well-designed, sustainable communities that prioritise affordability, environmental responsibility and quality of life. Living Space will now focus on concluding the process and exchange with their preferred RP partner early in the new year ahead of a 2026 start on site.
