Planning success for 35-home scheme in Worcestershire

October 16, 2025

Living Space has secured planning approval from Wychavon District Council for a new affordable housing development in the village of Tibberton, Worcestershire. The scheme will deliver 35 high-quality affordable homes, offered through a mix of social rent and shared ownership tenures.

The development represents the transformation of a part brownfield site and demonstrates Living Space’s commitment to responsible land use. Significantly, 70% of the site will be dedicated to Green Infrastructure, incorporating new public open spaces that will be accessible to the wider village community. The scheme achieves an on-site biodiversity net gain of 26%, exceeding national requirements and contributing positively to the local environment.

With planning approval now in place, Living Space will move forward to secure an affordable housing partner to deliver this much-needed development, bringing new homes to Worcestershire and the wider region at a time of significant demand.

Paul Breen, Managing Director of Living Space, said: “Securing approval for this development in Tibberton reflects our ongoing commitment to unlocking much-needed affordable homes across rural communities. At a time when housing delivery is firmly in the national spotlight, we remain focused on creating high-quality, sustainable neighbourhoods that integrate with existing settlements and leave a positive legacy. This scheme will provide local people with real housing choice, supported by significant green space and long-term environmental benefits.”

Luke Webb, Planning Director at Living Space, added: “We’re pleased to have worked closely with Wychavon District Council to achieve a planning consent that aligns with both local policy and the direction of forthcoming national planning reforms. The emphasis on Green Infrastructure and biodiversity demonstrates how well-designed rural schemes can support growth while enhancing the landscape. This development sets a strong precedent for future affordable housing delivery in Worcestershire.”
